Prepare your cuttings Cut off the semi-hardwood stem squarely below a node. The length of the cutting is between 7–15 cm long with two or more nodes. Remove the lower leaves and any buds growing at the tip. Trim the leaves in half if they are large. This stops the cutting from losing water and wilting.
